Grannies are very important members of our families. They can be a great help if we are busy and there is nobody at hand to help with little kids. They like to read books, play games and give extra sweets to their grandchildren.
Grannies know a lot of ways how to entertain and soothe kids. Home-made pies, cookies, ice-cream with jam, sweets seem to never end in your granny’s fridge. She is always ready to tell a new wonderful story about one little girl or one little boy, and you can easily understand that it was your big and strong Dad or your nice Mom. They are so big but for grannies they are just little kids. They are still those little Jack and Molly with dirty hands and torn trousers. They are ready to tell about their own childhood, and you think that that story is known by heart. Do not stop your granny; let her talk before she passes to the eternal land of silence… Be attentive to her. She needs attention, and nothing else. Your granny knows a lot but she is not strong enough, so be her strong arms or legs. Help her to move a heavy armchair to a more convenient place, give her a hand at the stairs, let her touch your face with dry hand, she wants to see you but as her eyes become blind, hands help her to understand changes in your appearance. Be patient with your granny.
